I treat a wide range of issues and take an active approach in working with my clients to develop effective coping skills to face life's challenges. I integrate a number of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness based strategies and family therapy modalities to help my clients learn proactive coping strategies.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist, and whether working with one person or a number of family members, I help my clients understand how changes in the way the family operates can greatly reduce stress.
I have a particular interest in—and continue training in—mindfulness based stress reduction, relationship repair strategies, and treating mood disorders in more integrative approaches. With many years of experience in Employee Assistance Programs, I help clients deal more effectively with work related issues and work related stress.
I also have experience and an interest in helping clients reduce stress who are dealing with gastrointestinal issues such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and food sensitivities. .
Prior to going into private practice, I was fortunate to have a range of experience in a variety of settings that has broadened my skills and knowledge base. These include private school, college, workplace employee assistance programs, counseling agencies and mental health centers.
